Hello there,

Just for your information. Kraken Editions and XII Singes are releasing in a couple of weeks the Alkemy RPG based on DD4 rule mechanics.

We were wondering how much you guys would like to get it translated ?

First book to be released : the Guide for Khalimans (everything you need to play khalimans with DD4 rules)

Tell us more about that Wink

I take it thats Dungeon and Dragon's Version 4 rules??

Would sound good, i'm a bit lost of the DD licence system do you need to buy 600 books before you can buy the one for Alkemy??

Normally for RPGs based on another ruleset you just need the Players Handbook (for the basic ruleset) and then the new book contains the new classes and setting.

Personally I would like to see you guys get Alkemy established in the UK first, before branching more stuff out.

Just look at the recent no show at Salute, and before anyone says it I know they don't have a UK distributor, but neither do Smart Max and they were there.

not really into RPG's myself, but i would also suggest concentrating on the minis range for now and get it in peoples heads so when you do release an RPG its riding on the back of the minis and the universe / fluff they've built up.
if i was hooked on the alkhemy world, i'd probably even buy the RPG books just for all teh extra story and background, even if i never intended to play the RPG.

also, don't go rushing a translation of such a text heavy project - look at cadwallon for a beautiful book of awesome fluff that was badly translated and ultimately unplayable... i so wished cadwallon was done properly.

You'd better not be trying to pin a paper fish to my back Joss  Cheesy

I don't play 4th Ed D&D but I'd love some Alkemy sourcebooks, Avalon, of course, would be my favourite but I'd take anything I can get.

Well actually guys this project is developped buy french editor "Les XII Singes" under our supervision. So our staff is not concentrated on it.
It is just a though the team of the XII Singes had, and I told them I would ask the different english communities.

So don't worry, we (Kraken) are still working on translation of Genesis as well as the mini range. Alkemy's license is just growing, thanks to some partners who believe in our Universe.

Back to the initial point. I've replied to your post on the Alkemy forum. I don't personally see that an RPG of Alkemy, regardless of who was helping to get it going, would be of benefit to the development and promotion of the table top game. I'd personally prefer to see you guys build up and further the game with fluff and expansion rather than take it along a different game path where the players are not "developer loyal" in as much the same way as table top gamers, such as the likes (mostly) here.

In essence, as I'm sure you very well know and expect, that an RP group tends to share material, devise and build on their own and make use of what ever miniatures they so choose, even infact they even use them. Table top guys will, if you've hooked them, buy and build on collection on top of collection and encourage their mates to do the same. You only need ask anyone here about their former belief in R... They could of had virtually all of us on our knees drooling like junkies waiting for our next fix... they actually did at one point.
