Personally I really like the idea of a free rulebook. As a consumer that is.

Having a downloadable rulebook makes me more likely to have a read through it and start playing.

On the front of the players, what for example has stopped the 2 of you looking into it earlier? That's not a question to provoke you in any way, it is just a natural follow up to the fact that rules and range have been identical since late last year and hardly expanded at all in actual facts since the starter were introduced in English last summer.

It`s a fair question.

The main reason is that none of the forces have jumped out at me.  I had it with Dirz in the Conf days, the Demons in Hell Dorado, Dark Elves in Warhammer Fantasy, and Tyranids in 40k.  I don`t really connect with any of the races in Alkemy.

This was a problem I had with AT43, none of the races being to my liking.  After seeing some of the new Oni models though I`m tempted to drop some money on it.

With me, its all about the fluff.

Its the models here... I have played the game and like the system but I can't pick one of the four available factions because none of them has a centrepiece model that jumps out at me and makes me go "wow!". They are nice enough sculpts but without a focal piece in each range the overall effect on the table is diminished and I just can't find the love...

So, what is the difference between what you can download and the e-genesis?

Is it fluff? If so, then I am more than likely to start the game (I like fluff a lot, helps me get into a game)

Cool. I'm use to poor translations from french companies now, so that won't bother me to much.

I'm looking at possible special deals I can do on the range for when it's available. Thinking of giving the characters (the deacon etc) away free when you buy a starter and one other box. Not sure yet.

May get a bit more interest in the game, as the characters are over priced IMO.

I should point out I was commenting on the printed French version, I have no idea what the translation is like, hopefully it reads well (better than the original).

noted.  Cheesy

Apparently part of the delay in getting the book translated was that they didn't like some of the background text and kept re-writing it.

Really for me its I want there to be an active comunity, I want a demo and players near me.. I see little point in investing in a game that no local players also desire to take up.
