That's not fair on R. At least they replied denying our posts.  Cheesy

I don't have an issue with their communications.

Ah, well, posting on a forum is different. Unless they employ some one solely to answer questions on forums, then I would never expect a response on one.

Way to many other things to be doing.

Book looks excellent, bar the missed translations (scenarios are littered with them).

They weren't even updating their own website. They have been horrific at keeping people informed. You don't tell people that something will come along soon, then a week later say the same thing again then leave it a month and, after all those questions of "when" simply say "... along soon" and totally ignore all the other questions.

Well I dont really agree, as most other companies have forum presence on their own forums, And as a side note, you can always get them on CMON, so they are online!

I sometimes do wonder why it's believed that companies have to be transparant about things, but I suppose thats just me.

Just because other companies have a presence on their forums, I don't see why everyone should.

I would not expect to get a resoponse on a company forum to a question. If I wanted an official response, I would email them.

Of course, reading this makes me sound like I think they should just tell us all to f off, which I don't. I just don't understand how some people take it all so personally. At the end of the day, they are a business, it's upt o them how they run it.

I sometimes do wonder why it's believed that companies have to be transparant about things, but I suppose thats just me.

I think it's how they present themselves in the first place. If they come over all keen and matey, chatting on the forums and giving out 'sneak peeks' of upcoming stuff then people (not unreasonably) expect that continue. As was, I believe, the case here. If that level of comms then changes, dries up, becomes patchy and evasive, then why shouldn't people be peeved by it?

I don't think companies are bound to be transparent. however, if they start out that way people will complain when they change. It wasn't the public but the company themselves that decided they would be transparent in this case. They said it often in their early postings. They could have chosen another route. Some companies never tell their customers anything until they're ready to bombard them with advertising. Not better, just different.

It's about managing expectations. If you're inconsistent then folk get upset.

In this case I think that the Kraken team would like to be transparent - they just haven't the time.

Fair enough, never been on their forum. So don't know how they were or are now.

Just thought it was the 'French company' syndrome.  Grin

They specifically said in a number of their early posts that they wanted to be transparent, which was good.

For many months the forums have been so dead even the tumbleweed has got bored and wandered off...

At the end of the day, they are a business, it's upt o them how they run it.

yep, and it's up to customers whether they want to part their cash with them. Paying someone to read less than 50 posts a week and address the main questions is really not a bad way to secure loyalty ;-)

50 posts a week? Man, not as busy as I expected then.

And your right, the customer can walk away. Thats part of business. It's just int he wargames industry, it's expected that the companies tell the players everything, when they don't have to.

Hello people,

I've been reading your posts and must admit everyone is right.
We chose at first to be as transparent as possible, being there for you, answering questions and so on.
But things were going a bit crazy this year, not allowing me to be on every forums as I would like.
So I spend most of my time left on the french forum (I must admit I might be a bit lazy to make the effort of writing in english...)

So my apologizes if you had the feeling that Kraken let you down. I will try to be more present and available on Kraken's forum.
For your information also, we will change the whole website for the end of the year. It should be more easy to use and better looking. That should help these forums to be more busy Wink

Thank you for your feedbacks... always good to improve ourselves Smiley

Thanks for chiming in here caherwain. Brave of you to do so too.

I've been in startup companies myself and know how mad things can get, especially if you haven't done it before. For myself, what's happened with Alkemy has been very disappointing, though it has been understandable as well. In a way, understanding the situation makes it even more frustrating because I can't really blame you for being ambitious and then getting bitten by reality.

I hope this e-book helps to revitalise your fortunes  Smiley
