So... Has anyone else heard about the Leadbelt Wargames Show in Nottingham? Is anyone planning on going along?

Linky

It does clash with the "Game Over, Man!" Space hulk Tournament at Maelstrom though, which I did also have a hankering to enter...

I have yet to win a game of space hulk, so to save being Embarrassed will give maelstrom a miss.

They did not suck! Afro I think I won by 7 or 8 kill points to McCranky's 2 at the tail end of turn 3. He made a few key errors that I exploited brutally Evil Overall I lost eight marines from three combat squads and a rhino to most of the Tau force.

If we'd played into turn 4 he would have been down to 1 KP because my fleeing tac marine would have auto-rallied as I had nailed the two Crisis suits within  6" of him that stopped him rallying in turn 3! To be honest, by that point he had no juice left in the tank anyway... All he had left was a squad of Pathfinders on foot that were primed to be whirlwind and frag missile fodder, his 6 man stealth suit squad that I'd positioned to be charged by a tac combat squad with Fist and my Epistolary (if he condescended to turn up...) with Termy armour and Vortex of Doom, an eight man Fire Warrior Squad in ruins that were about to get hosed by an obscene amount of firepower from thunderfire, sniper scouts and Ironclad Dread, then charged by the Dread, and his last Crisis suit with TL Fusion Blasters who was stranded on a 2 foot tall ruin after a deep strike mishap.

I was highly impressed with the new toys I used from the latest codex. The Ironclad Dread and Thunderfire Cannon are both very good indeed! (Despite the depressing number of 4+ saves he made against the Thunderfire...)

If you fancy getting a few games of Space Hulk in a row then let me know! I can show you a few tricks and tips that should transform your game Evil although picking all 5's and 6's for command points helps a lot too! Lips Sealed We need to sort out our campaign game too at some point Afro

Good find. Never heard of it till now.

Looks quite small (7 traders and no stands left) which might be nice and cosy.  They'll need some more support on the tourney front though as they currently have only 1 person confirmed on their site.
