I'm going to remain out of the discussions since I have a vested interest in it   Azn

... I wanted to point out though that we are looking into producing boards for availability in the middle of April. And by 'we' I mean DAM but I am overseeing the re-design and production of the board. I think Klaus posted in their forum something to this effect but I prefer to have it here too so that people looking into it are aware that it will eventually be a 'ready-to-go' game, well removing needs to print out essential components at least Afro

have not played yet  but have seen the minis  and they look allright  with lot of potential on their on ... have read the rules  and it look like you can spend as much time as any other game  outthere battling away .

TBH i'm a bias in favour of this type of games so i eventualy will get it from rogue when the board are available

Its nice and Klaus is more than open to suggestions as well.  Have found games either seem to be over in moment's or you spend a while chopping small bits out of each other..

I read the review for this in the Ancible this morning and then promptly downloaded the game  Smiley  Will have a closer look later when the mrs is out and the boy is asleep.

When my copy of the Ancible arrives later this week I'll have a look at it. The figures are certainly attractive enough, although they do remind me of Urban War - probably just because that is the only other range with a human "future gladiator" faction I can remember as much as anything else...

The price drop & VS bundles announced in TGN the other day don't hurt either. It was looking a little pricey compared to the other games I'm playing and collecting at the moment. Afro

Its a nice game i mounted my board on a piece of MDF though i've been looking at my hirts moulds and thinking about doing something more solid.

Some more mini's just come out as well.

£6.95 on Chaos Genesis or £12.something for two if I recall correctly, they were pricey but had a correction and I'd say they are now competitive Afro

Nah, they are pricey.

Plus the advert in Miniature Wargames, with the scary lady in the S&M costume, yeah that really put me off!  Cheesy

I might give it a go, but I'd probably use GW pit slaves, I think they are cheaper!!!  Roll Eyes

Edit: Yeah they are cheaper!!! I could also use some of my old 'Munda goliaths, converted... The new ones would look fitting as well. Oh and the Mordheim gladiators.  Afro

I'm not sure why, but the miniatures just put me off. I think it's the paint jobs as I believe the models themselves are quite nice.....

dodgy paint jobs are never good.....

having seen the pj at first hand, I think they are very well done - they were at the Game09 event in Manchester

I am not too sure about the long term appeal of a game that appears to revolve purely around arena fights - or is there more than that?

I have to admit, yeah.

I am getting quite bored of games where you just set up and fight. I like games with a GM and some imagination of your own required.

Rememebr the game is still beta, so the potential is to go beyond it.

But Blood Bowl was just a game on a pitch and look at its love Cheesy

Blood Bowl has the humourous links with real life and the nice comic fantasy element. 'Brutal' has gamer chicks dressed up in ways no one wants to see.

Not my thing, sorry.
